Cramp Bark Tincture — Viburnum opulus

The manufacturer describes Viburnum opulus bark extract, traditionally known as cramp bark, as one of the most potent and effective botanicals in gynaecological herbal medicine. The source claims proven, strong haemostatic and antispasmodic activity, relaxing the muscles of the uterus and pelvis.

The bark is rich in glycosides such as viburnin, astringent tannins, valeric acid, flavonoids and resins. According to the manufacturer, these constituents combine the constriction of dilated blood vessels, relief of painful uterine contractions and reduction of excessive blood loss.
